Every individual is different, but this job allows me to reach out to each person and help them in a unique way. It’s different every time and every day, Each day I ask God to help me connect with the clients and prepare them to receive my help and He works wonders every time.

Best Friends is truly built on a foundation of serving and enhancing the lives others. Being a Best Friends Community Services staff member is not just a job. I feel that it is a calling to be here, to spend every day reaching people to help them have a better quality of life, one day at a time. You must have passion, compassion, patience and a true desire to connect to the person and become their Best Friend.

Best Friends is an awesome company to work for! I am amazed at the growth of the company and how many people that are being help in such a short span of time.”

Best Friends Community Services Staff Member, Ramona Coleman

Ramona Coleman
“My passion is to make a difference in people lives and help individuals grow. I have been a foster parent for over 20 years, and Best Friends gives me the opportunity to make that difference in people’s lives beyond fostering.

The most important thing you need for working at Best Friends is a caring heart. You have to be able to put the individuals needs first, and set yours aside. Attention and love help people build self-esteem and grow, and that’s what we are trying to do here.

Staff and volunteers do the most good in small acts like helping people get haircuts, taking walks with them, or helping with events like movie days. Recently, one of residents celebrated her first Christmas ever, and it was great to just be here with her. That’s the type of joy we are trying to bring to people’s lives by being their Best Friends.”
